Ronal Carranza
Tasting Notes: Mango, Lilac, Rose
One of our favorite origin and variety combinations, Peruvian Gesha. We've noticed that many Gesha examples from Peru have more complex florals than Gesha grown elsewhere. The Peruvian terroir combined with the Gesha variety seems to modulate the classic Gesha jasmine florals into more complex pink or purple florals like cherry blossom, rose, lychee or lilac.
This particular Gesha is a clean washed one by Ronal Carranza at his farm "Guardian del Bosque". In the aroma we find a notable creamy lilac note along with some sweet yellow stone fruit like mango, and dried rose petals. The taste follows with similar notes but with more acidity than presented on the aroma. This acid brings out more of the mango initially but then finishes with a lingering florality.
