Tasting Notes: Rose Lemonade, Rainier Cherry, Sugar Cane

Description: This coffee is produced by Eduardo Armero at his farm “El Mirador” in La Argentina, Colombia. Eduardo has notable experience in sourcing, blending, and producing coffee and has been named the best cupper in Colombia twice. He started this project only two years ago, produces only 100 bags a year, and yet the quality is staggering. Pink Bourbon is often more fermented or processed than we prefer, however this one hits the perfect sweet spot. The fruit flavors are bright and juicy while the finish is still floral and clean with only a small hint of fermentation if you look for it.

Impressions: In the aroma you’ll immediately notice an intensely sweet and sugary fruit character; almost vanilla or marshmallow-like. Additionally, you’ll notice sweet stone fruit similar to mango or cherry as well as creamy rosy florals. On the palate, the floral rose can be tasted up front and immediately followed by a tart lemonade acidity. It quickly transitions into a sugary sweet stone fruit character which reminds us of rainier cherry. Lastly, the taste finishes with freshly pressed sugar cane sweetness.
